FAQs

How do I make an appointment?

Call us and we will do our best to schedule you to see one of our clinicians at a convenient time.

What happens when I attend?

You will be asked to complete some paperwork, including a questionnaire and your insurance details.  Please remember to bring reading glasses if you need them and your insurance information.  The paperwork will take around 15 minutes to complete, after which you will be seen for your first session.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept most major insurance plans, although this varies slightly from clinician to clinician.  If you have any questions about whether your insurance will be accepted, or about your copay, please call us and we will be happy to help.

How many appointments will I have?

This is different from person to person.  Some people benefit from relatively few appointments, while others attend for longer.  If you have concerns about this, you will be able to discuss this with your clinician after they have completed your first session.

What if I can't make it to a scheduled appointment?

We know that life sometimes gets in the way of the best laid plans.  If you can't make it to an appointment, please call us to let us know with as much notice as possible.  If you have an appointment and you do not call to cancel, there is a charge.  Our full cancellation policy will be discussed with you at your first appointment.

What is a neuropsychology assessment?

Neuropsychological assessments are often carried out in order to try to answer questions about changes to your thinking skills, or cognitive abilities.  These might include difficulties with memory, attention/concentration, language, or problem solving, among other possibilities.  These kinds of changes can be caused by many different things, including brain injury or certain kinds of health condition.  Assessment of this kind can help you, your family and your medical doctors to better understand the difficulties you may be experiencing, and can help to direct rehabilitation strategies and treatments.

If you have been referred to our practice for neuropsychological assessment, the process involved in testing will be discussed with you in detail during your first appointment.
